About us...
The Velnar family began the printing business in 1964, when Miloš purchased the first screen printing machine. There were not many printers on the market at the time, so we are considered to be the true pioneers of screen printing in the coastal area. Two years later, the need for offset technology occurred, so the first printing machine was purchased and set up at home in the lobby. We decided that printing would become our core business as work became increasingly demanding and there were more and more inquiries and orders.
As the first private craftsman in Slovenia, Miloš acquired the title printing works. Already in 1969, on a monochrome machine, we produced a colour cover of Ognjišče, which no printing works in Slovenia was able to do. In 1980 we moved to our current location in the Šalara craft area.
Following the legal changes, we established a limited liability company, and in late 80's we were among the first to introduce computer photographic composition and later computerized print preparation into the production. We built new premises in the craft area and expanded the production.
Today, VEK Printing Company is well known to many graphic service customers, as we use modern, technologically sophisticated and computer-controlled printing machines that provide fast, high-quality printing. We are a medium-sized printing company in Slovenia, and we hold a larger market share of printing services in the coastal-Karst region and an enviable share in Slovenia, Italy, Austria and elsewhere.

THE FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL ®
As of 2018, we have adopted the policy of the Forest Stewardship Council and received an FSC® certificate that advocates for the environmentally adequate, socially beneficial and economically successful management of the world's forests. By acquiring the certificate, we decided to promote responsibly obtained paper, to preserve the environment, forest animals and their habitat.
We strive to protect the environment, especially forests and products (using environmentally friendly materials).
WE TAKE CARE OF THE ENVIRONMENT
At VEK Printing Company we are aware that our work process also requires us to use environmentally hazardous substances.
Modern technology allows us to collect a developer thus preventing it to drain into the mains, by modernizing the system we also provide the recycling of industrial water. Therefore, we entered into a contract with a certified company for removal of special waste (developer, fixer and paint residues). Paper waste removal company carts off about 3 to 4 tonnes of paper each month.
The printing works "produces" substantially less noise than years ago, and we purchase printing machines that consume less energy per unit.

We want to become a printing company that can fulfil every wish of every customer in the shortest possible time at competitive prices. We will achieve our goal by further modernizing our production, continuing education of our employees and with marketing in strategically important areas.
